TCRCAM RULES:

Introductory Comments

One of the principal reasons our club was incorporated was to provide an organization which could maintain a suitable flying facility for use of its members, where the best interests of each member would be protected by regulations set up for this purpose. The basic premise of these regulations is safety for all. We ask you to conduct your activities in accordance with the regulations, in a responsible manner, with respect for the safety of others.

General Rules:

To Use the Field for Flying, You Must:

1) Be a member of the TCRCAM in good standing, or if a guest, be accompanied by a member, holding a current membership card.

2) Have your valid AMA membership card on your person or attached in plain sight to your flight box.

Flying Field Regulations:

1. AMA and club rules apply at all times.

2. All flyers must have a current AMA membership.

3. No alcoholic beverages are allowed at the field.

4. No littering including cigarette butts, rubber bands, broken props, etc.

5. The maximum permitted engine noise measured at 9 feet from 3 positions will be 99 db at the Far South field.

6. All transmitters must be placed in the transmitter impound when not in use. No transmitter shall be turned on unless the flyer’s membership card is in the frequency slot and the flyer has the frequency pin.

7. All flyers will be held responsible for losses caused by improper radio use.

8. Frequency pins should not be held more than 15 minutes when someone is waiting to fly.

9. No prolonged engine testing in the pit area.  Use the engine test run stand at far eastern end of the flight line, near the helicopter pad.

10. Flyers must take off and land from behind the barriers and stand in the pilot box while flying.

11. All aircraft must be restrained behind the pilot boxes. No taxiing permitted behind the pilot boxes. No restarting of engines is permitted in front of the pilot boxes.

12. All flying at Far South field must be done past the far side of the runway. Do not take off or land if traffic is visible on the road.

13. Flyers will announce and verbally acknowledge critical flight activities with the following order of priority: emergency landing, landing, take off and low pass.

14. Non-powered sailplanes shall be launched 500 feet from the nearest pilot box.

15. All powered sailplanes and other hand launched aircraft shall be launched from the runway and away from pilot boxes.

16. All forward flight of helicopters shall be performed from the runway and be subject to the same operating rules as fixed wing aircraft. All extended hovering shall be performed 500 feet from the nearest pilot box.

17. No more than five aircraft shall be permitted in the air at the same time except for extended hovering helicopters in the designated area.

18. Flyers are not permitted to enter the planting areas of the farm beyond the canal west of the runway to retrieve downed aircraft. The farm manager must be notified and he will recover your plane.

19. No flying is permitted before 8:00 AM (10:00 AM on Sunday) at Farsouth field.  Electric powered planes are exempt from these time limits.

Transmitter & Frequency Control:

1) When you arrive at the field, place your transmitter in the impound area.

2) Your transmitter shall not be turned on until your membership card has been placed on the Frequency Control Board. and the frequency pin is in your possession.  This must be done whether you are flying or testing an aircraft.

3) Overlapping of pins is not permitted under any conditions.

4) As soon as you have completed your flight (or testing), turn your transmitter off, return your frequency pin to the Frequency Control Board and retrieve your membership card.  Remember to return your transmitter to the impound area.

Members:

We have some changes requested by the farm management that requires the immediate attention and cooperation from everyone.
1    All of us are driving too fast on the farm property.  Do not pass any farm equipment going in the same direction.  When you enter and leave the field, use the section of road that forks off to the right on the south side of the maintenance building.  Follow the tree line on the south side of the runway to the flight area.

2    Do not fly west of the wind sock.  Do not fly directly over the top of any vehicle on the road.  The use of a spotter is recommended to keep you informed.  Avoid flying over the planted areas.  If you hover your model, do so over the grass between the runway and the road.

3    If you lose an airplane in the planted area, you must contact Mike, the farm manager.  He will either have someone retrieve your model or authorize you to retrieve it.  All of the farm workers are hourly paid workers.  Retrieving your model is not what they are being paid to do.  They are not to be bothered.

4    Only card carrying members and their guests are allowed to be on farm property. The   guest must be accompanied by the member at all times.

5    It appears that a lot of the problems the farm managers are seeing, are caused by non-members, or modelers who were members at one time.  Look for these people.  If you see someone that you don't recognize, question them.  Believe me, the people that fly using their AMA card or their older membership cards in the frequency rack, will have great excuses why they don't have a proper membership card.  Write down their name, the date and the time of day if you can.  Even their license plate number will help us track them down.  All of us hate doing these kind of things!  I am sorry I have to ask you to.  If someone asks you to see your card, please remember to thank them.
